Haha it’s definitely a story.
It was at the Gorge Amphitheatre in Washington, which is a fantastic set. I was only a fourth grader and I’d never even been to a real concert. My dad has been a Bowie fan since Bowie first came out, so because it was an outside concert, it was ‘early bird gets the worm’ kind of thing. We arrived four hours early at noon, and even then people were already there. I stood right up against the fence, only yards away from the stage, and waited for my dad, as he periodically came and went, collecting various memoribilia and occasionally bringing refreshments. I don’t even know who started and who went, but there were /so/ many opening acts, and as a ten year old kid, it got boring watching all these strangers perform. Finally when the sky had grown dark and it was approximately midnight, the lights came on and “Sunday” starts playing in the darkness.
I’ve never seen a concert that good in my entire life. The moment the music came on, thousands of people hushed instantly and he began… it was perfect in every sense. The only source of light was from the set, and the way the spotlights glimmered across the sky and everything up on set /glowed/ like a paradise in addition to the amazing live music…
Thus, my love for Bowie was born.
Sorry if it’s too dramatic xD but it’s a big deal for someone that’s ten I guess, so that’s how it all felt to me.
Speaking of Heathen I thought I’d just share this with you. It was taken by my dad on the best night of my life. <3

Hello there!
Your blog is one of my favorite things about this website. The pictures and information are wonderful, but I also appreciate your insight and positive attitude; there’s just this je ne sais quoi about your tumblr that never fails to put a smile on my face.
I’m no great artist, but I wanted to give something back, so I tried my hand at painting this scene from TMWFTE. It was completed over the course of a few days with the aid of acrylic paint, roasted milk tea, and good music.
